A Pressure Sand Filter (PSF) is a water treatment system used to remove suspended solids, turbidity, dust, silt, and other impurities from water by passing it through specially graded sand media under pressure.
Raw water enters the filter vessel and passes through layers of filter media such as gravel and silica sand. Suspended particles are trapped within the media bed, and clean water is collected through the underdrain system. Periodic backwashing is performed to remove accumulated contaminants and restore filtration efficiency.
